Kitchenette

         One of my favorite restaurant is Kitchenette. It is located in Senayan City mall, south of

Jakarta. They have four branches one of them is located in Bali. The concept of the restaurant is that they divided into two parts, Indoor and outdoor for smoking area. It is an open area covered with all wooden furniture, and the kitchen is right in the middle of the restaurant. The kitchen is made from glass that you are able to see the chefs cooking. Since it is an open area you can see the people crowding in the lobby going in and out of the mall. Outdoor, you can see the full view of the mall’s water fountain and a wine corner at the side that you can taste it for free.

         When you step into the restaurant you can smell the salmon being seared and you can hear the floorboards creaking it is like an old wooden floor.When it is at night the area gets dimmer and you can hear the sound of live music every weekend. I usually sit at the soft green cotton sofa because it is very cozy. As you get seated the waiters will give the menu and take your orders. The menu cover is very unique, it is made of a dark brown hard carton and written by colorful pen and some images of the food being paste. As a starter I will order Caesar salad. It is one of the chef’s favorite recommendation served with fresh vegetables, soft grilled chicken and topped with creamy sweet sauce for the dressing. It is very delicious. For the beverage I prefer lychee ice tea because it is very refreshing.

         For the main course the chef’s recommendations were chicken teriyaki and spicy deep fried oxtail. I chose the spicy deep fried oxtail because I love spicy food. They fried the oxtail until it’s tender and a little bit crispy. It comes with a clear soup on the side, the soup it’s a mixture of broth and the meat’s fat that makes the soup very tasty. It is served with hainan rice too. One of my favorite dessert is called Marie-lou. Its crepes filled with nutella, sliced of banana, grated cheese, caramel sauce and vanilla ice cream. All of these set of food can make your day filled with satisfaction and walked out from the restaurant with a happy feeling.

            I suggest if you are looking for a place that is cozy and serves delicious food, this is the place where you should go. The price range is average and if you sign up an Ismaya Group card you will get a 15 percent discount for food and beverage. This is the best place where people hangout to chill with friends and family.
